Is It Just Me???? Or Do People Lie When It Not Even Necessary?!

So, last nite i was watching "I Want to Work For Diddy" online of course because I don't have cable. (BTW I guess I'm still the only one who thinks that it is a totally unnecessary monthly expenditure. But whateva I digress. So I watchin Diddy show which I like and think is equally not as good as it could be, but Eehh! And a IM message comes in. So, I open the window and it this guy that I met online from a online dating site. I know that is another post all together. Anyway, this guy looks good from his pics on his profile. Tall, you need to know that I'm a giant-6'ft and a bit. So he definitely my cup on tea. Now he goes into this whole bit about how he works for a construction company, that have office in France, so he is in Paris as we speak. Hmmmmmmm, ok SURE!! Wink, Wink. 

So I as wat exactly is he going in Paris, he like mostly office work. So, the construction co. you work for in NYC has taken you to Paris to do office work. Completely believable, right? Of Course so this I how the very short convo goes.

 

Me: So what time is it there? (It 12 am in BK)

Lying Dude: Oh it 4:58

Me: Really, isn't it 6 hr time difference from NY to Paris?

Lying Dude: What time is it the there?

Me: 12 am

Lying Dude: Oh, I must have made a mistake.

Me: Oh, ok well I got to go to bed now. TTY

Lying Dude: Oh, you don't want me to come see you?

Me: Come see me? I thought you just said your in Paris, for a month or so. 

How are you going to see me?

Lying Dude: Blah,blah,blah

So, anyway I stopped paying attention and signed off. I was being interrupted from watching Diddy. And could you believe that the assistants from Diddy had to go to Paris, France on this episode. 

Now, do we think that Lying Dude saw the episode as well. I mean it was Tuesday nite, and Diddy comes on VH1 on Mon. I believe. 

So the question then becomes: 

Is it just me or do men lie when it not even necessary just for the sake of lying. I don't for sure. Maybe there are some scientific studies I can go research????
